Recommended Tools to Use:
Pictured above are some items that will help you as you hunt for rocks and minerals. Looking for rocks and minerals requires digging through other rocks, sometimes fairly large, to locate those special treasures buried underneath. Some rocks you need to break open to uncover some wonderful finds of minerals and crystals. A hammer will help break rocks and the pointed side can also help you dig. A shovel is useful for moving piles of loose rock. A crow bar can also aid in moving large rocks. A chisel and a mallet will work well to break apart rocks and look inside. A flashlight will help you examine your finds and also to look into any dark areas or caves you might be digging in. Safety is important so do not forget gloves, eye protection and a first aid kit just in-case you get any scrapes from digging in the rocks. Also remember to bring something to hold your treasures in like a bucket or a bag. Bring news paper also to wrap any rocks that you do not want damaged. Keep in mind that some rocks and minerals are harder than others and getting banged around in a bag or bucket can cause some pieces to break!
